There is drama in the light and shadows of the forest. As the sun begins to set on an icy cold day, it darkens the trees and brightens the snow.

It is common to have an early snowfall in the mountains of New Mexico. This one stayed around for 5 days. Here it is early morning before there are footprints of man or beast.
